Today I wanted to write about my statement of purpose, which I probably still will, but I also wanted the internet to share in some awesome scripture I heard today.
I, along with a friend, got a chance to Skype with the new director of my campus ministry and he was a really cool guy. He ended with a passage from Romans, which is a super awesome book of the Bible and also the book we’ll be studying this semester.
Romans 16: 20
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
WHAT?!?!!? If reading that doesn’t get you excited about God, let me include another verse.
I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.”
Remember that? The prophecy is about Jesus being victorious over Satan, i.e., bruising the serpent’s head, but in Romans, Paul includes us in it too. That’s seriously the coolest thing I’ve read in a while!
P.S. Admittedly, the title of this post is misleading because this isn’t the whole gospel. Still, if I had called it “The Bible” that would be even more confusing.
